Coincidence or something bigger? When I started CPR I didn’t have any connection with RPC, my local animal shelter. Then I started volunteering there. Then my instagram account started to grow. Then I started doing $5 Fridays to try get some money for RPC. Then one day I was sitting in my car and I was thinking about creating some custom CPR shirts and RPC popped into my head and I thought “omg…their abbreviation is my abbreviation just backwards!” I’m not a big religious person at all but at that moment I thought “there is something bigger happening here” - this is supposed to be happening. Me and RPC….I’m meant to be helping them. And guess what? You are a part of this. Without you I could only do so much. But with you, wow, WE can do great things! Today, on this $5 Friday, I’m hoping to not only help RPC but I’ve decided that whatever money we get over $2000 will go to one of YOUR animal shelters! If this goes well then I will make this a regular thing! Get outside! Winter can really get people down, think less sun, cold and ice 😭 but I’m here to tell you GET OUTSIDE anyway! It’s so good for your mental well being. The sun on your face. The fresh air. The movement that your body needs! If you feel depressed, no motivation or just sad in general. I promise you, after you go for a walk, you WILL feel better. When I was interviewing a potential puppy family once, i mentioned walking the dog and she said “well in the winter we hunker down and don’t do much outside time but in the spring…” but I stopped listening so I’m not sure what else she said. That one sentence stopped her from being a candidate. The joy that these dogs display as they are running through the snow, smelling all the smells and stretching their muscles with movement is all I need to know that outdoor time is essential. So there was just no way I could hand over one of my puppies to someone that doesn’t put this as a priority, for THEIR life AND their dogs life. Dress warm. Put on some ice cleats.
