About Me

I take a naturally-reared approach to puppy raising. I strive to learn and educate others about alternatives to common flea/tick prevention methods and I do my best to inform others of the benefits of a titer versus “standard” vaccine schedules. As you can see here, I feed raw with Volhard, and if you follow me on any social media, you will see me explain why often.

What does all of this mean for my puppies? They are weaned from their Momma’s milk straight to raw food. They are not vaccinated, instead we choose to gain immunity with the use of nosodes. Nosodes are a type of homepathic remedy prepared from the virus itself.  This virus is diluted down to a minuscule amount and then sugar beads are used to transfer this remedy to your dog.  You simply pour a few beads into your dogs mouth, on the gum line.  You do this a few times a week and by the time the dog is a year old you can titer test (blood draw that shows antibodies) and it will show that your dog has indeed gained immunity without the use of vaccines.

It is my thought that a healthy dog, (raw fed, no vaccines, no flea and tick meds, lots of sun and exercise, limited toxins in their environment), has everything they need to fight disease. The more toxins we allow in their body the harder it is for them to do what the body is designed to do, which is fight disease naturally.

The only vaccine that I struggle with is Rabies, as it is required by law.  So, I always suggest to wait until the dog is at least one year old and then titer test.

My puppies come with a one year health guarantee that is only nullified if they are not fed raw, if they are given any oral flea and tick medication, or if any vaccines are given under the age of 1.

When it comes to finding homes for my puppies, I am looking for outdoorsy, like-minded people that believe in a holistic approach when raising one of the best creatures to ever walk the face of this earth. If that sounds like you, please feel free to join the puppy waiting list.

Exercise Is Key

Located on a dead end dirt road just outside of Bethel, Maine, my home sits on 42 acres with 2 ponds for the dogs to enjoy. In addition to walking trails in the woods and swimming in the pond, I have a huge yard that is fenced in for their safety.

I am a big believer in getting the dogs outside for walks everyday.  Not only is it a great bonding experience, but it’s the perfect time to do some obedience training.  Rain or shine (or snow!), I make sure to get out there and explore.

Dogs need exercise, outdoor time, mental stimulation, training, quiet time and play time with you! Leash walking, training, and playtime are critical. I want our dogs to look to us for everything, not just food and kisses.

At the end of the day, a tired dog is a good dog!

Puppies

My Ideal Labrador

I strive for a labrador that is small in stature, good natured, with a thick coat, blocky head and otter tail.  All clearances must be met before any breeding.

My dogs are calm, gentle and well-trained.  All of them attend obedience classes, have their CGC (canine good citizens) certificates and have been trained to duck hunt.  My labs are extremely versatile, I can duck hunt with them in the morning and take them hiking in the afternoon, which is what I like to call: The Perfect Day.
